Good questions. I find that the best way to predict the future is to live it. And maybe even that is probably generous.

I completely agree that these prognostications seem to assume Nvidia, AMD, and the AI chip startups drive the market. But I will also say that HBM and CoWoS limit all players, and do so unequally because might makes right makes volume in this business. Google and AWS and Meta Platforms and Microsoft have as much money as Nvidia, so it will be interesting to see who wins that battle for capacity at what price. I think in the long run the hyperscalers will largely do their own AI chips and the clouds will treat GPUs like legacy, multi-purpose platforms and they will pass the premium Nvidia charges onto customer — much as happens with X86 CPUs already.

Will they still be buying Nvidia, or paying the margin back to their own bottom line? Will the money be in licensing AI tensor core designs like the arm business model?

Building the MATRIX is not cheap.

But that’s where it ends. His forecast is $1T for immediate term (which I am assuming is 12 – 24 months) and $1T for long term (3 – 5 years). However, he isn’t explicit on what his forecast includes? Are analysts raising NVDA target price assuming that the $2T is for AI Accelerator sales alone. Hope to see your analysis of NVDA’s AI Accelerator and Infiband switch growth.

It is more of a Dorbro with a solid brass slide from my Dad, and a Leffe as I cooked down five gallons of apples culled from trees up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway, followed up by an Elysian after teh kids are asleep, but same idea….
