When a tech vendor starts losing suddenly “multi and choices” become its favorite words. Vendors like AWS, who hated multi-cloud, has suddenly singing about “choices” in AI and “multi options” through its Bedrock platform. IBM, one of the poster child of never partnering well and obsessed with its own technologies, has suddenly found working with partners and giving the clients “choice” as important. Same way, Oracle, a vendor with historic horrible record of not caring for partners or clients, and ensuring clients dont move from its tech stack, suddenly is in love with “choices”. But these things show a realization that these vendors have given up or have become smart realizing their limitations and partnering with the leaders. Just that they need to continue to learn and may be in next tech wave transformation they can bring something disruptive like IBM brought Mainframe, Oracle brought Database, and Amazon brought IaaS cloud.
